A Different View of the Garden

Look along the arms of this 20th-century wrought iron garden bench and the scrolls reveal themselves at both ends. Between them, slender round rods sweep over the sides, contrasting with the flat iron strips that form the pointed arches across the back.
That balance is what caught my attention. The curved arms soften the geometry, while the gently rising top rail brings the whole outline together. Weathered stone-grey paint and warmer traces of surface rust sit comfortably against the brickwork and silvery foliage.
At 130.5 cm wide, the bench offers somewhere to pause without enclosing the space around it. Add a generous garden cushion, find your preferred view and take a closer look at the ironwork.
